This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the rules governing permitted and prohibited uses of the addisVOICE platform, including all AI voice, telephony, dashboard, and API services (collectively, the "Services"). This AUP is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service. By using the Services, you agree to comply with this AUP at all times.
2. Permitted Uses
You may use the Services to:
Answer inbound calls from customers and prospects on behalf of your legitimate business
Provide automated greeting, call routing, FAQ answering, and appointment scheduling for callers who contact your business
Review, analyze, and export call transcripts, analytics, and summaries for internal business purposes
Integrate the Services with your existing CRM, calendar, or business tools via supported API and webhook features
Conduct outbound calling campaigns where you have obtained prior express written consent from all recipients in compliance with the TCPA and applicable state laws
3. Prohibited Uses — Strictly Forbidden
3a. Illegal Telemarketing & Spam
Conducting automated outbound calling campaigns without prior express written consent from recipients
Contacting numbers registered on the National Do Not Call Registry or applicable state DNC lists without a valid exemption
Sending unsolicited commercial communications via voice, SMS, or any other channel using our infrastructure
Using auto-dialers or predictive dialers in violation of TCPA or FCC regulations
3b. Caller ID Spoofing & Fraud
Transmitting false or misleading caller ID information in violation of the Truth in Caller ID Act or similar laws
Impersonating government agencies, law enforcement, financial institutions, or other businesses
Using the Services to facilitate phishing, vishing, social engineering, or identity theft
Misrepresenting your identity, business, or the nature of the AI receptionist to callers
3c. Harassment & Harmful Communication
Using the Services to harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, or abuse any person
Configuring your AI agent with content that is defamatory, obscene, or discriminatory
Repeated unwanted contact with individuals who have requested no further communication
3d. Deceptive AI Practices
Configuring your AI receptionist to deny being an AI when sincerely asked by a caller
Removing or altering AI identity disclosures or call recording notices required by law
Using the Services in a manner designed to deceive callers about the automated nature of the interaction
3e. Sensitive Data Collection
Collecting full payment card numbers (PAN), CVV/CVC codes, or bank account numbers via voice AI without PCI DSS-compliant controls
Collecting Protected Health Information (PHI) via voice AI without an executed HIPAA Business Associate Agreement with addisVOICE
Collecting Social Security numbers or government ID numbers without appropriate legal authorization and security measures
3f. System Abuse & Security Violations
Attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems, databases, other Customer accounts, or third-party infrastructure
Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract source code or AI model weights from the Services
Reselling, sublicensing, or white-labeling the Services without express written authorization from addisVOICE
Introducing malicious code, viruses, or disruptive content into the platform
Circumventing usage limits, billing controls, or rate limiting mechanisms
Using the Services to conduct denial-of-service attacks or load testing against any system
3g. Unlawful Content & Activities
Facilitating illegal gambling, unlicensed financial services, or fraudulent investment schemes
Supporting drug trafficking, human trafficking, or other criminal enterprises
Violating export control regulations or sanctions administered by OFAC or other applicable authorities
Any other use that violates applicable local, state, federal, or international law
4. Your Compliance Responsibilities
As an operator of an AI voice receptionist, you are solely responsible for:
Ensuring your use of the Services complies with all applicable laws in every jurisdiction where you operate or receive calls
Maintaining required call recording disclosures in your greeting scripts
Scrubbing outbound contact lists against DNC registries before initiating campaigns
Obtaining and maintaining records of prior express written consent for outbound calls and SMS
Ensuring callers are aware they are interacting with an AI system, not a human
Complying with industry-specific regulations applicable to your business (healthcare, finance, real estate, etc.)
5. Monitoring & Enforcement
addisVOICE reserves the right, but not the obligation, to monitor use of the Services for compliance with this AUP. We may investigate complaints, suspected violations, and anomalous usage patterns. In response to confirmed or suspected violations, we may:
Issue a warning and require immediate corrective action
Suspend specific features or outbound calling capabilities
Temporarily or permanently suspend your account without prior notice
Terminate your subscription without refund
Report violations to law enforcement, the FCC, FTC, or other regulatory authorities
Pursue civil legal remedies for damages caused by your violation
Enforcement decisions are made at addisVOICE's sole discretion. We are not obligated to provide notice before taking action in cases involving illegal activity or imminent harm.
6. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of a violation of this AUP by any addisVOICE customer or third party, please report it to abuse@addisvoice.com. Include as much detail as possible, including the phone number involved, a description of the issue, and any supporting evidence. We take abuse reports seriously and will investigate all credible reports.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time to reflect changes in legal requirements, platform capabilities, or industry best practices. We will provide at least 14 days' notice of material changes via email or platform notification. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
